Useful Tips for Video Creating

• Keep your videos short. Short, focused videos lasting 6 minutes or less tend to be more effective for learning than extended lectures.
• Prepare a storyboard or script (both if needed) for students who have different learning styles.

Preparation

• Plan your course video
• Determine the main goal of your video.
• Consider using existent materials such as presentations, videos, readings.
• Remove or hide any visible branding that may be inappropriate.
• Close any notifications on presenting computer.
• Use your phone in silent mode.
• Put on neutral or blank-colored cloths preferably light colors. The color green is forbidden for clothing because of green screen technology.
• Avoid patterned clothes.
• Avoid jewelry that is highly reflective or makes noise when you move.

While Recording

• Talk in a conversational manner.
• Speak with high enthusiasm.
• Do not mention current events and dates because it limits re-use.
• Keep principles in mind:

• Split-attention principle
