You can install a printer on your computer with the macOS operating system using one of the following methods.
Method 1
- Click on the
- the Apple icon.
- Go to
- to System Preferences
- Settings.
- Click on
- on Printers and Scanners.
- Click on the + icon
- “+” or “ Add Printer “ icon to add a new printer.
Check the Advanced ( Gear ) icon available in the toolbar. If not, it can be added by right clicking the toolbar and selecting Customize Toolbar. Drag the “Advanced Gear” icon onto the toolbar

- Click Advanced button
- Choose “Windows printer via spools” for Type
Choose “Another Device” for Device
Type “ smb://print.kocun.dslocal/KUPRINT “ for URL and RF Campus “ smb://print.
kocun.dslocal/WESTPRINT “ for URL and West Campus
Type a name for Name
Choose “Generic PostScript” for Use

- Then click Add button
- When you send a document to the printer it will ask username and password
Please Type KU NetID ( without @ku.edu.tr ) and password

- Click on “Printers and Scanners”
- Click on the “+” or “ Add Printer “ icon to add a new printer.
- Select “ kuprint” and click on the “Add”button:

- Once complete, you should see the newly installed printer in the
- the Printers and Scanners window.Once you have installed
- When you send a document to the printer , you will need to authenticate to the print server the first time you print. (see below)
