You can install a printer on your computer with the macOS operating system using one of the following methods.

Method 1

  • Click on the Apple
  • Go to System Settings.
  • Click on Printers and Scanners.
  • Click on the “+” or  “ Add Printer “ icon to add a new printer.

Check the Advanced ( Gear ) icon  available in the toolbar. If not, it can be added by right clicking the toolbar and selecting Customize Toolbar. Drag the “Advanced Gear” icon onto the toolbar

  • Click Advanced button
  • Choose “Windows printer via spools” for Type

Choose “Another Device” for Device

Type “ smb://print.kocun.dslocal/KUPRINT “  for URL and RF Campus  “ smb://print.kocun.dslocal/WESTPRINT “  for URL and West Campus

Type a name for Name

Choose “Generic PostScript” for Use

  • Then click Add button
  • When you send a document to the printer it will ask username and password

Please Type KU NetID ( without @ku.edu.tr ) and password

Method 2

  • Click on the “Apple”icon
  • Go to “System Settings”
  • Click on “Printers and Scanners
  • Click on the “+” or  “ Add Printer “ icon to add a new printer.
  • Select “ kuprint” and click on the “Add”button:

  • Once complete, you should see the newly installed printer in the Printers and Scanners
  • When you send a document to the printer it will ask username and password
